40 Years Of Alleviating Hunger in Needy Homes. Our help is needed now more than ever.

Already in the pre-Covid era, statistics showed that an alarming 26% of Israeli households were living in abject poverty, unable to put food on the table. Currently, with the pandemic causing unemployment, business closures and rapidly-rising food costs, the number of families in crisis keeps growing. Parents are struggling to purchase basic groceries to feed their children.

Years of experience have helped us develop the Grocery-Shopping Plan into one that is efficient, cost effective and, true to our tradition –respects the recipient’s dignity.

Families purchase food using a credit account that has been set up for them at their local supermarket. They shop at their convenience and choose foods that are traditional and well-loved in their homes, or other ingredients that may have previously been out of their budget. This helps to maintain a sense of normalcy and stability in their lives.

In addition to year-round assistance, our Grocery-Shopping Plan includes augmented assistance for holidays which are especially costly.

Helping families function with dignity is at the core of our mission, and our financially sound procedures keep our overhead incredibly low: Ninety six percent of each dollar you donate goes straight to putting food on the table in Israel’s neediest households.
